Brown Indo is an Indonesian nursery selection of Cryptocoryne wendtii described by stronger dark leaf patterning than ordinary Brown. It is a cultivated form of the Sri Lankan species; an Indonesian production line does not make the species native to Borneo. Use it as a small planted clump where the leaf texture can be seen. Rooted stability matters more than frequently moving the plant to pursue a darker shade. Newly supplied leaves may be replaced as the plant adapts; evaluate a firm crown and subsequent growth before discarding it. Plant the roots securely with the crown at substrate level and avoid repeatedly uprooting the clump. Supply nutrients to the established root zone. Some old leaves may melt after a change of growing conditions; remove decaying material but retain a sound crown. Established clumps can be increased by separating rooted daughter plants.
