About this plant

Isopterygium sp. 'Mini Taiwan Moss' is a small aquarium moss introduced to the trade through Singapore. It resembles Taiwan Moss but remains finer and more compact under comparable conditions. The exact species has not been identified, so the trade name should be retained instead of assigning a species epithet. It is also important not to confuse this plant with the densely branched Vesicularia sold as Mini Christmas Moss, which was incorrectly distributed under the same name. True Isopterygium sp. 'Mini Taiwan Moss' is easy, accepts low to high light and benefits from stable carbon dioxide and complete fertilisation without requiring an exact high-tech setup. Attach small portions to stone or wood and trim them before the lower layers collect debris. Propagation is simple because separated fragments continue growing. The moss can also grow emersed in humid conditions. Its fine texture and epiphytic habit make it especially useful for nano aquariums, foreground hardscape and miniature tree layouts.
