About this plant
Bornean locality form of the leafy liverwort Solenostoma tetragonum, collected from the same Gunung Sumpit site as a Bucephalandra form. The species is widespread in tropical to subtropical Asia and has also been treated as Jungermannia tetragona and Plectocolea tetragona. This aquarium form builds attractive cushions from obliquely upright shoots densely covered with rounded, transparent leaves; individual shoots are around 3 mm wide. Growth is very slow. Moderate light, injected CO2 and regular water-column nutrition are recommended. Published aquarium data give pH 4–7, KH 0–7 and a temperature tolerance of about 18–28 °C. Propagate by dividing mats or small fragments. It can also grow emersed under humid conditions.
