About this plant
Brownie Kapuas is a compact Bucephalandra culture form with narrow oval leaves and pronounced waviness. The mature foliage can look brown-green, while metallic highlights change with lighting and viewing angle. Use a group at the foot of a rock rather than expecting rapid spread. A relatively small number of leaves can still give useful texture if their outline remains exposed. Kapuas is preserved as part of the culture identity; it is not treated as proof that every plant from the Kapuas region is this form. Secure the plant to rock or wood and leave its creeping rhizome uncovered. Gentle circulation keeps debris from settling on slow-growing foliage. Maintain balanced nutrition and stable conditions; sudden changes may be followed by leaf loss. Remove deteriorating leaves and preserve a firm living rhizome. Propagate established plants by dividing healthy leaf-bearing sections. Emerse and submerse leaf appearance can differ. General Bucephalandra guidance is not a measured tolerance limit for every named culture form. Care ranges, where supplied, describe reported cultivation conditions rather than measured lethal limits. Width and nutrient concentrations are left unspecified where no defensible form-specific values are available.
