Reliable nursery information places it among the smaller Echinodorus cultivars, with a practical maximum height of about 20 cm, although retail descriptions vary considerably. Plant it as a midground specimen in a nutrient-rich substrate, leaving space around the crown so that new leaves receive light. Medium to strong lighting supports the red colour, while carbon dioxide is helpful but not essential in a well-fed aquarium. Propagation may occur through plantlets on inflorescences, and mature plants can also be divided at the rhizome when distinct crowns are present.
