About this plant
Echinodorus decumbens is a large rosette plant with narrow, elongated green leaves. Submerged plants develop a distinctly slender leaf shape, while emersed leaves may appear broader. Because of its upright growth and eventual size, it is best suited to the midground or background of medium to large aquariums. A nutrient-rich substrate supports healthy development and steady growth. Additional carbon dioxide can promote stronger growth but is not essential under all conditions. Propagation mainly occurs through young plants that develop on the flower stalk.
