About this plant
Fine-leaved Australian Limnophila discovered by David Wilson in the Moyle River, Northern Territory, and described as a new species in 2019 by Christel Kasselmann. The wild plant was found submerged in clear, flowing, soft water in full sun at depths exceeding one metre. Its bright green, hair-finely divided leaf whorls are about 5–7 cm across, giving a more compact appearance than Limnophila aquatica. It produces both upright stems and runner-like creeping shoots. Aquarium growth is fast. Best results come with low carbonate hardness, strong light, injected CO2 and complete nutrient supply; temperatures to about 29 °C are well tolerated. Propagate from top cuttings and naturally formed runners. It can also grow emersed and flower.
